About Gandhinagar City
Gandhinagar, named after the father of the Nation is the new capital city, of Gujarat, on the banks of the Sabarmati River and is about 32 kms. from Ahmedabad. In 1960 during the partition, Bombay city went into Maharashtra and it was then decided to construct a new capital for Gujarat.
